McClain, Helton, Gaunt named to All-CIF baseball team

Heritage High School baseball players Randy McClain and Nathaniel Helton and Paloma High baseball player Matt Gaunt have been named to the All-CIF team.

McClain hit .406 with 2 home runs and 15 RBI for the Patriots, who won the Sunbelt League with a 12-0 record, posted a 20-4 overall mark, and advanced to the CIF-SS Division 4 quarterfinals. Helton hit .339 with 13 RBI.

Gaunt, a senior pitcher, posted an 8-2 record and 2.24 ERA for the Wildcats, who won the Ivy League title and finished 14-11 overall before losing in the first round of the CIF-SS division 2 playoffs. He also hit .305 with 17 RBI.
