Questions remain after discovery of deceased female

 A section of Murrieta Road near Chambers Avenue was closed for several hours today following the discovery of a deceased female by the side of the road, authorities said.

Menifee Police responded at about 10:55 a.m. to a call reporting a female who appeared to be deceased, according to an MPD news release. Arriving officers and medical personnel located an adult female near the end of the road, at the opening of a storm drain. The victim was observed to be deceased. Detectives and the Coroner’s Office responded to the scene. There appeared to be no signs of foul play.

The victim was identified as Sandra Hickam, 68, of Menifee. Detectives learned that community members in the area may have had contact with the victim while she was walking earlier.
