Members of the Heritage High School Class of 2021 were honored inside the stadium tonight as in-person commencement returned to the school.
Family members were socially distanced in the stands and students’ seats were spaced out on the field, but there was a familiar festive atmosphere as students received their diploma from school and district administrators.
Students were welcomed by Student Body President Arianna Henry. Jaya Marie Tracy, Student Body Vice President, led the flag salute. Following remarks by principal Mark Harrell, a message was delivered by Anthony Stafford, vice president of the Perris Union High School Board of Trustees.
Teacher Amanda Bates gave a charge to the Class of 2021 and Senior ASB Officer Irene Logan accepted the charge. Superintendent Grant Bennett accepted the graduating class and delivered his remarks. Salutatorian Sofia Mirabal and Valedictorian Aila Rose Bayoneta also addressed the student body.
The Last Tassel Ceremony was led by Anika Colburn and Johnny De La Rosa, Senior ASB Officers.
