The Menifee City Council on Wednesday honored longtime resident Bob O'Donnell as Citizen of the Month.
O'Donnell has lived in Menifee since 1971, when he arrived at age 23 to work at the Sun City Post Office. He worked for the Postal Service there until 2002, including serving as Postmaster. Now a 50-year resident of the community, he has also served on the Menifee Valley Hospital Auxiliary, Crime Watch, Menifee Valley Historical Association, and is a longtime member of the Menifee Union School District board.
"When you think about a public servant, Bob's name comes to mind," said Mayor Bill Zimmerman in presenting a proclamation to O'Donnell.
