Each Menifee high school placed one basketball team in the CIF playoffs, which begin next weekend.
Paloma Valley, which won the CIF State Southern Regional last year, takes a league championship and 9-3 overall record into the Division 2A girls basketball playoffs. The Wildcats received a bye in the first round and will be at home Saturday at 7 p.m. against the winner of a first-round game between Villa Park and Canyon.
In Division 5AA, the Heritage girls will play at La Reina Saturday at 7 p.m. in the first round. Heritage is 5-5 overall and placed third in the Inland Valley League.
In boys basketball, Santa Rosa Academy received a bye in the first round of the Division 5AA playoffs and will be at home against the winner of the Nordhoff-Savanna game in the second round Friday at 7 p.m. The Rangers are 6-0 this season and won the league title for the first time.
In boys tennis, Heritage will be at home against Costa Mesa Monday at 3 p.m. in a Division 5 third-round match.

They can have kids in a locker room but not in a classroom? Kind of looks like teachers just don't want to do their jobs?
