There will be a doubleheader of wrestling Saturday at Paloma Valley High School as the CIF dual meet playoffs move into the second round.
The Wildcats girls wrestling team will play host to Foothill High at 9 a.m. in the Paloma Valley gym. Paloma won its first-round match against Redlands East Valley, 36-15, on Wednesday.
Right after that, at 11:30 a.m., the Paloma Valley boys team will take on Servite. The Wildcats won their first-round match over Villa Park, 33-30, on Tuesday.
It has been another successful season for both Wildcat wrestling teams. Last year, the girls team won the CIF dual meet championship and sent eight wrestlers to the state meet. The boys team finished second in the CIF dual meet competition and sent two wrestlers to the state meet.
Adding to a big day of playoff competition in the Paloma Valley gym on Saturday, the girls basketball team will play host to the winner of tonight's first-round game between Villa Park and Canyon. Paloma Valley received a bye in the first round.
The Heritage High boys wrestling team will compete at Corona del Mar in a 3 p.m. match on Saturday. That same day at 7 p.m., the Heritage girls basketball team will play at La Reina.
