Three suspects face felony charges related to a vehicle burglary after they were arrested following a traffic stop in Menifee Wednesday night, police said.
A Menifee Police officer was conducting extra patrol of a residential area near Quail Valley Elementary School and made a traffic stop of a vehicle for an observed violation near Canyon Heights Drive and Rocky Summit Drive, according to a Menifee PD news release. An investigation revealed that all three occupants were involved in an earlier vehicle burglary.
Michael Solis, 30, of Canyon Lake faces a second-degree burglary charge. Johnathan Ferrer, 28, of Hemet faces a second-degree burglary charge and two misdemeanor charges. Michael Torres, 26, of Hemet faces a second-degree burglary charge and two misdemeanor charges, including possession of a controlled substance and driving without a license.
All three suspects were booked into Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta. They were released on bail the same day and have scheduled court dates in Murrieta on Aug. 26, according to jail records. The stolen property was returned to the owner.
