The fenced-off construction site on the south side of Holland Road between Hanover Lane and Palomar Road is being graded as part of a housing project by developer DR Horton, said Cheryl Kitzerow, City of Menifee community development director. The subdivision on the 17-acre site calls for 68 single family lots with a minimum lot size of 7,200 square feet.
How do you justify the amount of water it will take to support 68 homes. Water the city doesn't have,, neither do the surrounding cities.. Haven't you heard, California is in a drought!
ReplyDeleteThere are not enough school in Menifee, they are already unlawfully overcrowded. Stop building. Do a moratorium on housing for at least 5 years. Stop the growth!.
Agree 100%. Hemet, Temecula etc. exactly the same problem.
DeleteHow about building the overpass for Holland, for traffic over 215, before building more homes? When I am told I have to conserve and limit my water for showers etc. (and higher water rates) it does not make me a happy camper! I have already lost my green (grass) belt to a brown mulch belt due to water restrictions, so to see new homes go in with beautiful green plants and grass, sorry, it just rubs the wrong way.
ReplyDeleteI also agree 100%!
ReplyDeleteWhere do they think the additional water and resources are going to come from to sustain more people?
There should definitely be a moratorium put into place to restrict building.
New construction is also detrimental to wildlife who are consequently being driven and displaced from their habitats. Our natural environments are rapidly shrinking and diminishing altogether.
Animals were here 1st! Let them live in peace.
