News release from Eastern Municipal Water District:
PERRIS — Eastern Municipal Water District is celebrating Water Awareness Month throughout May by reaffirming its commitment to providing safe and reliable water service to the nearly 1 million residents served throughout western Riverside County.
Over the past year, EMWD has provided communities a safe and reliable water supply despite a global public health crisis. This commitment has been at the forefront of EMWD’s priorities throughout its 71-year history.
As the world begins to return to a sense of normalcy, EMWD’s focus on providing a dependable water supply future remains steadfast. EMWD is committed to the long-term management of its water supplies through responsible investments, including in local sources.
In 2021, EMWD will complete work on its new Mountain Avenue West Groundwater Replenishment Basins and Perris II Desalter. These facilities will help provide additional reliable sources of local groundwater to the region for future generations.
EMWD works hard to educate the public about water awareness and the services it provides. Its award-winning education program has continued to engage with thousands of students throughout the past year, and EMWD offers a variety of customer-focused programs to help its residential and business customers become more water efficient.
“EMWD is proud to provide our customers with high-quality services now and into the future,” EMWD President Phil Paule said. “As we celebrate Water Awareness Month, it is our promise to every one of our customers that we will continue to work to ensure you have a sustainable water supply future at the lowest possible cost.”
