Eagle Scouts recognized by Menifee City Council

Seven young men from Menifee who recently earned their Eagle Scout award were honored during Wednesday night's Menifee City Council meeting.
Five of the seven Eagle Scouts who received certificates were able to be present at the meeting to be recognized. This was the first public recognition since the COVID-19 pandemic, during which these Boy Scouts completed their community service projects to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.
Those honored were:
Isaac Laban: A student at Paloma Valley High School, Isaac built a new two-sided sign for the VFW building on Simpson Road, where he cleared debris, added a flower bed and added solar lighting.
Brody Worthington: The Santa Rosa Academy student created 50 recycling lids for trash cans at the school to reduce waste.
Jarrett Johansen: A student at Western Center Academy in Hemet, Jarrett produced a water safety video for the Lake Elsinore Aquatic Center. It was shown at the U.S. Department of Waterway Convention and is being used as a statewide template for water safety.
Evan Decker: Also a student at Western Center Academy, Evan painted a map of the USA on a school playground in the Romoland School District.
Joel Southwell: The Santa Rosa Academy student built signs to commemorate U.S. Veterans for display in the Menifee Lakes recreation area.
Jaydon Southwell: Also a student at Santa Rosa Academy, Jaydon landscaped a portion of Spirit Park in preparation for a botanical garden from the City of Menifee.
Dylan Steenhoek: The Santa Rosa Academy student constructed an outdoor relaxation garden equipped with wooden benches, planter boxes, and water feature at a transitional home owned by Social Worker Action Group (SWAG).
