A parachutist who became caught in power lines about 30 feet off the ground was rescued and suffered only minor injuries, authorities said today.
The incident was reported at 11:11 a.m. at the intersection of Mission Trail and Vine Street in Lake Elsinore, according to a Cal Fire news release. The parachutist was discovered hanging from power lines. Southern California Edison arrived to cut power to the lines and bring the victim down in a bucket lift.
The patient was evaluated by firefighters and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries to the lower extremities. SCE workers were able to safely remove the parachute from the power lines.
