Romoland School District announced today that students who recently chose to return in person in the Traditional Instructional Model will receive on-campus instruction four days a week beginning May 3.
In late March, the district welcomed back students in that learning model two days a week. This announcement means that for the final five weeks of the school year, elementary students will receive in-person instruction Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., while middle school students will receive in-person instruction the same days from 7:30-11:36 a.m. All students will remain in virtual learning on Wednesdays.
Parents of students in the district received notice via email today. The announcement is also on the district website.
“As planned with our multiple instructional models, our goal is for students who selected and enrolled in the Traditional Instructional Model to have increased time in on-campus, in-person learning for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year,” the statement read, in part. “Based on recent trends in COVID-19 case rates in Riverside County, as well as updated physical distancing guidance that allows us to accommodate more students in the classroom, we are moving to the next step in the gradual repopulation of our schools."
Students who have been enrolled in the hybrid model will not see a change in their schedule, according to the announcement. They will continue to attend in person two days a week. Those who chose to remain in the Virtual Model will remain in total distance learning for the rest of the school year.
This is the final planned schedule adjustment for the current school year, according to the district.

This is great but why not 5 days? This is all so ridiculous. Kids aren't getting or spreading the virus at any significant level.
