News release from Mt. San Jacinto College about COVID-19 vaccines:
The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine will be available to the public today through Thursday at Mt. San Jacinto College’s Menifee and San Jacinto campuses.
The vaccines will be given on a first-come, first-served basis via online registration through MyTurn. Enter your ZIP Code and choose MSJC as your location. All adults are now eligible for the vaccines, but you must be at least 18 years old to receive the Moderna vaccine.
The Moderna vaccine will be administered at:
-- The Menifee Valley Campus Student Health Center, 28237 La Piedra Road, Menifee, today, Tuesday and Thursday. Register online at MyTurn and choose an available appointment.
-- The San Jacinto Student Health Center, 1499 N. State St., San Jacinto, on Wednesday. Register online at MyTurn and then choose an available appointment.
Those getting a second dose of the Moderna vaccine must wait at least 28 days since receiving the first dose.
If appointments are full, please email healthservices@msjc.edu to be placed on a waitlist. Waitlisted people may get called the day before or even the day of for last-minute cancellations or no-show appointments.
MSJC received the doses from the state and continues to ask for more. The vaccine is available only to those who have:
-- not tested positive for COVID-19 in the past three months.
-- no cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms.
-- no fever.
You will be screened as you register and again when you enter the building for the vaccine. For more information on the tiers, please visit the Riverside County Public Health website.
