Menifee Police Department officers arrested a Hemet woman in the act of stealing merchandise from the Target store in Menifee on Tuesday, authorities said.
Menifee PD responded to a call regarding a female known to steal from the location, according to PD news report. Tanya Vining, 47, was walking to her car with a loaded shopping cart when she was confronted by officers. She had left the store by showing a receipt that turned out not to be from that store.
Officers recovered over $500 in stolen items and returned them to the store. Vining was taken to the Cois Byrd Detention Center and booked on a misdemeanor charge of petty theft, according to jail records. She was released on bail the same day and is scheduled for a July 12 court date at Murrieta Southwest Justice Center.
I'm still using my Kirby handed down from my mother-in-law. It weighs 30 pounds and is a pain to vacuum. I hate housework! Why anyone would steal a vacuum is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time someone was actually caught and punished for stealing! Usually they just let them go on their merry way . Good for the Menifee PD!
