Rancho Verde's fast start is too much for Heritage, 28-7

Rancho Verde scored 21 points in the first quarter and cruised to a 28-7 victory Saturday night, spoiling Heritage High School's only home football game of a shortened season.

Senior running back Elijah Ugorji ran for touchdowns of 12, 47 and 28 yards for the Mustangs, who improved their record to 2-0. Their other touchdown came on a 41-yard pass from quarterback Brock White to wide receiver Andre McKinney Jr.

Heritage's only touchdown came on a 40-yard pass from quarterback Hayden Lara to wide receiver Naisir Morrow. The Patriots are 0-2 this season.
