Police investigating shooting at vehicle on Menifee Road

News release from the Menifee Police Department:

Around 6:30 Wednesday night, we responded to the report of a traffic collision on Menifee Road, near Simpson Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a shooting had occurred. The victim vehicle was still on scene. Their vehicle was struck by gunfire. The two occupants were not injured.

Statements indicated an unknown occupant of a black Kia Sedan shot at the victim’s vehicle from behind and then fled the scene prior to arrival. The vehicle was not located. The incident is still under investigation, including events between the two vehicles that led up to the shooting. At this time, investigators believe this is an isolated incident.
