Seven people were displaced and a dog died in a house fire early this morning in Menifee.

The fire was reported at 1:27 a.m. in the 31000 block of Larchwood Street, according to a Cal Fire news bulletin. Firefighters arrived to find fire showing from the garage of the residence. In all, seven engine crews responded.

The fire extended into the living quarters. It was contained at 2:26 a.m. The Red Cross is assisting the two displaced adults and five displaced minors.
