A Menifee man faces a felony weapons charge after his arrest early today following a report of shots fired in a local neighborhood.
Raymond Martinez, 36, is being held at Southwest Detention Center with bail set at $25,000, according to jail records. He has a Jan. 27 court date in Murrieta.
Menifee Police officers arrived at 1:30 a.m. today to the 27000 block of Vanilla Court, east of the 215 Freeway and north of Rouse Road, in response to multiple calls of shots being fired and vehicles possibly fleeing the location, according to a news release. After contacting residents who had heard the shots, officers tracked down the suspect at a nearby residence.
Martinez was arrested and a search warrant was served on his residence. Several firearms, including an assault rifle and two handguns, were seized. He faces a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon, although no injuries were reported regarding the incident.
