Retiring EMWD board member Ron Sullivan is honored by Menifee City Council members.
The Menifee City Council on Wednesday recognized longtime resident Ron Sullivan on the occasion of his retirement after serving 18 years on the board of Eastern Municipal Water District.
Sullivan has been a public servant in the region since 1979, including his time as a Riverside County Planning Commissioner. He was presented with a plaque of recognition by City Council members.
"What a tremendous asset you have been to the region," said council member Matt Liesemeyer, whose district includes Quail Valley, where Sullivan was instrumental in the beginning of a sewer installation project. "I thank you for your efforts. You have given Quail Valley new life."
Mayor Pro Tem Lesa Sobek read from the plaque, which recognized Sullivan as a "tireless champion in using his experience" to improve water service and conservation in the region. She noted that Sullivan has made "frequent visits to the floor of Congress to advocate for priorities that provided great benefits" to the area.
"I'm thankful to the city for this recognition," Sullivan said. "Everything has been a team effort."
