Menifee residents filled six Menifee Police Department SUVs with donated toys in addition to donating a large amount of food items during Saturday night’s Holiday Drive Thru event.

This event replaced the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, which was not held because of COVID-19 restrictions. Instead, residents were invited to drive past a display of holiday decorations on Haun Road between City Hall and the Menifee PD station. As they drove past the holiday lights and Santa Claus, residents handed donations to waiting volunteers.

Toys donated will be given to children in need through the annual Santa’s Workshop, in connection with the Spark of Love Toy Drive. Donated food will be distributed through the Menifee Valley Community Cupboard.

Participants also included members of the NFL Alumni Group, who handed out autographed photos.
