Menifee PD screens 848 vehicles in first DUI checkpoint

The Menifee Police Department conducted its first DUI checkpoint Friday night, screening 848 vehicles on Newport Road near Bradley Road. According to the department's Facebook page, there was one DUI arrest, 11 unlicensed driver citations, three suspended license citations, and four vehicle impounds. In addition, 11 citations were issued for speeding, red light, and equipment violations.

The checkpoint was funded through a partnership with the state Office of Traffic Safety.
