News release from Eastern Municipal Water District:
PERRIS — Eastern Municipal Water District General Manager Paul D. Jones II, P.E., was recognized Monday with the John P. Fraser Emissary Award by the Association of California Water Agencies at its annual Fall Conference.
The award is presented to individuals who have made remarkable and visible contributions to the enhancement, protection or development of water resources in California through their support of ACWA’s goals.
Jones has served as EMWD’s General Manager since 2011 and has worked within the water industry for three decades. He has been a leading voice on a variety of industry issues, including those related to water affordability, recycled water, and the need to find sustainable solutions to address failing water systems throughout the state.
Jones has helped EMWD expand its recycled water services to use 100 percent of the agency’s treated wastewater during normal years and has helped advance recycled water priorities in California and the nation through his leadership roles with the WateReuse Association.
“I would like to thank ACWA and its membership for this incredible honor,” Jones said. “This award is a direct result of the vision established by EMWD’s Board of Directors and the work of our dedicated staff. I am truly humbled by this award and appreciative of ACWA for recognizing the work performed by EMWD.”
ACWA is the largest statewide coalition of public water agencies in the nation and its members are responsible for 90 percent of the water delivered in California. ACWA’s mission is to provide leadership, advocacy and resources for California’s public water agencies.
