A group of volunteers spent part of their Thanksgiving Day handing out to-go turkey meals to Menifee residents who had signed up for the free meal. Merna's Cafe & Grill provided the food for the guests, who lined up in cars outside the restaurant in the Sun City community. About 500 meals were handed out, said Gloria Sanchez, one of the event organizers.
