Heritage High School athletic director Scott Moore will transfer to the new Liberty High School to serve in the same capacity next school year, Perris Union High School District officials announced today.
Moore (left) has served as Heritage High’s athletic director since 2015. He will continue in that capacity for the rest of this school year while at the same time preparing to open the new high school’s athletic department. Liberty High will open to students for the first time in August 2021.
Brandon Jones, a football and track coach at Heritage for the last three years, was approved by the PUHSD board today as the new Heritage athletic director, effective July 1, 2021.
“Technically, I’ll be athletic director for both right now,” Moore said. “The agreement right now is that I can work about an hour a day for Liberty. It won’t be long before it will be time to order equipment and that kind of thing.”
Before coming to Heritage, Jones spent 10 years as a coach and seven years as athletic director at Pinacate Middle School in Perris. He is a math teacher and also serves as an Administrative Designee. Jones received his MBA and M.Ed degrees from the University of La Verne, where he was 2001 SCIAC Athlete of the Year.
