Officials at Mt. San Jacinto College and the MSJC Foundation have cancelled the remaining dates of the Cruz-In drive-in movie series after just one weekend.
The decision was made "out of an abundance of caution amid rising COVID-19 cases in Riverside County," according to an MSJC news release. Earlier this week, county public health officials announced rising COVID-19 numbers, which could force a return to the purple tier and more restrictions on public gatherings.
The first weekend of the series was held in the campus parking lot, with guests required to wear masks if exiting their cars. Tickets that had been purchased for "The Goonies" and "The Sandlot" will be refunded to ticketholders.
