High school students who are dreaming of the day they can step back on campus can take heart by seeing the progress being made on Liberty High School, which will open next August on Leon Road. As described in a previous Menifee 24/7 story here, the $160 million project will cover 52 acres and will serve approximately 2,600 students. Students in the Perris Union High School District who do not live in the east Menifee boundaries of Liberty High will have the option to request a transfer there.
Based on the concept of applied learning centers, the school will include "a wide range of facilities, including small learning communities, modern classrooms, athletic and art program spaces, career training facilities and the educational technology needed to support high quality instruction in science, technology, engineering, arts, math and skilled trades," according to the PUHSD website.
Construction is well underway on the main buildings, as well as the football stadium.
