Menifee Police officers working the graveyard patrol shift Wednesday night arrested a convicted felon who was found with a loaded firearm and illegal drugs in his vehicle, according to a Menifee PD news bulletin.
Officers responding to the report of a suspicious vehicle detained Hemet resident Randy Carey, 44, in the 27000 block of Highway 74, just east of the 215 Freeway in the Romoland community. They learned Carey is a convicted felon with an active violation of probation warrant for his arrest. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded 9mm handgun, heroin, marijuana, and illegally possessed prescription medication.
Carey was booked into Southwest Detention Center, where he has a court date Friday to answer three felony weapons charges and two misdemeanor charges, according to jail records.
