Computer delays result in long lines, frustration among voters

Menifee residents waited in long lines, many trying multiple locations without success, today in attempting to vote in-person while county polling stations experienced computer problems.

A Riverside County spokesperson said delays in computer verification of voters' eligibility were caused by the large volume of voters attempting to cast their ballots on the first day in-person voting locations were open. Officials are hopeful that the process will work more smoothly beginning Sunday, when polls re-open.

The ballot machines used to cast the actual ballots were working properly. Those who wish to turn in ballots received in the mail may use that process instead at one of the six Menifee voting locations:
