Menifee Police Department officers assisted members of the Riverside County Cannabis Regulation Task Force Tuesday in seizing more than 5,000 pounds of illegal cannabis product at a residence in Menifee.
Officers served a search warrant in the Romoland community, according to a Menifee PD news release. The owner of the home, 42-year-old Andres Gonzales Jr., was arrested on suspicion of marijuana cultivation, conspiracy to cultivate marijuana, and child endangerment. In addition, he had an outstanding warrant in a misdemeanor charge of cultivation of marijuana.
Offricers seized 550 pounds of dried and processed cannabis, in addition to 4,600 pounds of finished cannabis product stored in trash bags inside a U-Haul truck.
Gonzales was processed at Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta and was released today with a Jan. 13 court date to answer to two felony and two misdemeanor charges, according to jail records.
