Newsom orders indoor closure of gyms, hair salons, malls

Gov. Gavin Newsom today issued a statewide order that in the 30 counties on the COVID-19 monitoring list -- including Riverside County -- indoor services must be closed in fitness centers, worship centers, personal care services including barbershops and hair and nail salons, and malls. This is in addition to the previous order closing indoor services for restaurants and bars.

In other COVID-19 related news, the growing list of school districts that have chosen to offer online-only instruction to students now includes LA Unified, San Diego Unified, San Bernardino School District, and several districts in the San Francisco Bay area. As we reported earlier, Perris Union High School District made this same decision for Menifee high schools last week.
