An adult male who was found unresponsive by Menifee Police officers at the side of a road Sunday night was pronounced dead on the scene in what is being considered a medical emergency, authorities said.
The identity of the man, whom police said was 80 years old, has not been released. Officers responded at 6:59 p.m. to calls reporting a possible traffic collision in the 25900 block of Chambers Avenue, near Murrieta Road. They discovered a vehicle that had left the roadway and ended up on the front lawn of a residence. No one else was injured and no vehicles or structures were hit, said Menifee PD Cpt. David Gutierrez.
Police and fire officials found the driver slumped over inside the vehicle. There was no evidence of contact with another object on his vehicle and no signs of foul play. A medical condition is suspected as the cause of the incident, Gutierrez said.
