Menifee's number of new reported cases of coronavirus continues to rise, with an additional 26 cases reported today. That's the second highest increase for the city since numbers have been kept. In Riverside County as a whole, the total surpassed 20,000 today with 1,105 new cases reported.
In a news conference today, Gov. Gavin Newsom reported that the number of counties being monitored for elevated numbers increased over the weekend from 19 to 23 -- including the addition of San Diego County. This list already included Riverside County. Newsom also said that six enforcement teams made up of health agency members made 5,986 visits to bars and restaurants throughout the state last weekend to check for compliance.
"Most of the visits were from an educational standpoint, but there were plenty of citations given," Newsom said. Information for local enforcement visits was not available.

Total individuals tested: 259,183 (increase of 13,838)
Total confirmed cases: 20,555 (increase of 1,105)
Total deaths: 486 (increase of 7)
Confirmed cases in Menifee: 396 (increase of 26)
Deaths in Menifee: 6 (no change)
Hospitalized: 495 (increase of 33)
Number in ICU: 130 (increase of 10)
Number recovered: 8,711 (increase of 359)
