Sheriff's deputies from the Perris Station Special Enforcement Team serving a search warrant on a property in Romoland discovered and eradicated 1,242 illegal marijuana plants, authorities said.

Deputies arrived on site in the 24000 block of Malaga Road, north of the Menifee city limits, on July 16, according to a Sheriff's Department news release. The investigation resulted in the issuance of a search warrant which was served today. The marijuana plants were in various stages of growth.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Deputy Pendleton at the Perris Station, 951-210-1120.
