The suspect in an attack on a Menifee resident faces felony charges of attempted murder and is being held in a Riverside jail with bail set at $1 million.
Joshua Denbo, 26, is charged with attempted premeditated murder and assault with a deadly weapon in the April 26 attack on an adult male in the 27000 block of El Puente Street in Menifee, according to the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office.
Denbo appeared via video conference at an April 30 arraignment and entered not guilty pleas to all charges, according to John Hall of the DA's Office. Denbo is scheduled to appear in court June 3 for a felony settlement conference regarding the felony charges.
According to a complaint filed by the District Attorney, Denbo is accused of beating the victim in the head with a hammer. He fled the scene but was later located at a Menifee residence and taken into custody, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Lt. Lionel Murphy.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Details about his condition have not been released.
