A Menifee man died early Wednesday when he lost control of his motorcycle while traveling on the 215 Freeway in Perris, authorities said.
The County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Frank Jones, 58. According to a CHP news release, the victim was traveling south on a Suzuki Burgman motorcycle at an unknown rate of speed about 1:40 a.m. north of Harley Knox Boulevard when he lost control of the motorcycle, was ejected from it, and was struck by a passing vehicle.
The victim died at the scene. An active investigation is underway. Any witnesses who may have observed the incident are encouraged to call the CHP Accident Investigation Unit at 951-637-8000.
