Male dies at lake in Tierra Shores of apparent drowning

A male died of an apparent drowning in the lake at the Tierra Shores Community in Menifee today, authorities said.

Sheriff's deputies responded at 10:04 a.m. to the 29000 block of Tierra Shores Lane to the report of a drowning, said Deputy Deanna Pecoraro. When they arrived, paramedics from Cal Fire were performing lifesaving measures on the unresponsive male. He was pronounced dead at the scene, however.

There did not appear to be any signs of foul play, Pecoraro said. A resident of the community told Menifee 24/7 the victim was an older gentleman who fell into the lake and was pulled out by a neighbor, who administered CPR until paramedics arrived. The identity of the victim has not been released and an investigation is ongoing.
