Harrell named new principal at Heritage High School

Mark Harrell has been appointed principal of Heritage High School, effective July 1.

The appointment was made at Wednesday's board meeting of the Perris Union High School District and was announced today by Superintendent Grant Bennett, himself a former Heritage High principal.

Harrell currently serves as assistant principal at Heritage. He joined the district in 2018. Previously, he was an assistant principal in the Hemet Unified School District and a JROTC teacher. Harrell served nearly 30 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he gained skills as a human resources manager, budget supervisor, and drill instructor.

"Mark has demonstrated that he is dedicated to the staff and students at Heritage High School," Bennett said in making the announcement. "We are thankful to have Mark in the PUHSD family and are excited that he will be continuing the legacy at Heritage High School. Join me in congratulating Mark on his new appointment."
