About 20 residents of an apartment complex in Menifee Town Center were evacuated today following the rupture of a gas line at a construction site, authorities said.

The incident occurred about 11:35 a.m. in the 30400 block of Town Center Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. The apartment complex is one of several residential facilities in the Menifee Town Center, located between Newport Road and La Piedra Road and west of Haun Road. That center will soon be the site of the Krikorian Theater complex and other businesses.

No injuries were reported, and those evacuated will be allowed to return to their homes when repairs are completed.
