The Sheriff's Department has issued a warning to the public about a suspect who remains at large after fatally shooting a bail bondsman who was attempting to apprehend him.
The suspect is identified as Chad James Green, 41, of Riverside. He should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, according to a Sheriff's Department news release. Anyone who comes across Green is asked to call 911. There is an active warrant for his arrest.
Sheriff's deputies from the Moreno Valley Station responded to the call of an assault with a deadly weapon Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at a hotel in the 24000 block of Sunnymead Blvd. Once at the scene, they found James Black, 42, of Lake Elsinore suffering from a gunshot wound. Black was transported to a local hospital, where he died.
