An adult male was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries from a gunshot wound suffered Thursday night in the Sun City community of Menifee, according to Sheriff's deputy Robyn Flores. The suspect in the shooting remains at large.

Deputies responded at 9:02 p.m. to the report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 27000 block of Boston Drive, near Allentown Drive. Residents in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots and a woman screaming, according to messages sent to Menifee 24/7.

The response was a large police presence on the ground and by helicopter. No one is in custody and the investigation is ongoing. No other details are available.
