A GoFundMe site has been established to support the family of a Menifee man who died Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash on the 15 Freeway in Escondido.
The 34-year-old man, who has not been identified by the Corner's Office, was identified by family members as Teel Whitton, a husband and father of two young children, on the GoFundMe page.
"Teel was the best, most selfless loving person," according to the website. "He was so hardworking and dedicated to his wife Nastasha, his son Carson (3), and daughter Alora (1). Everything he did was for them. And on top of that he was so funny, a perfect part of the family in everyone’s eyes. He would always be there to help fix someone’s car that needed work, help with your backyard projects, and with anything else, if he didn’t know, he’d figure out a way to help. He was a great husband, patient father, loving son, and protective brother."
The California Highway Patrol reported that Whitton's SUV suddenly veered from the fast lane across all lanes near Via Rancho Parkway about 6 a.m. The vehicle crashed through a guardrail on the side of the freeway. Whitton was pronounced dead at the scene.
