This map from plans submitted to the City include a major market (1), retail shops (2), pharmacy (3), 7-Eleven store (4), gas station (5), fast-food drive-thru (6), restaurant (7) and self-storage facility (8).

Grading has begun on the site of the proposed McCall Square, a 15-acre commercial center that will be the first such center to serve the residents of the Heritage Lake community in Menifee.

The property, first approved by Riverside County officials in 2007 for development, finally got on the drawing board in 2014 when The Rancon Group submitted plans to City of Menifee officials. The site is an open lot on the northwest corner of McCall Boulevard and Menifee Road, on the west border of the Heritage Lake community.

As outlined in Rancon's plans, the center will include:

-- 45,000-square-foot market
-- 11,500 feet of retail shop space
-- 14,600-square-foot pharmacy
-- 6,100-square-foot restaurant
-- 3,500-square-foot drive-thru restaurant
-- 3,500-square-foot convenience store, gas station and car wash
-- 152,893-square-foot self-storage facility

The convenience store is planned as a 7-Eleven store, but all other spaces are still in the pre-leasing state, said Gina Gonzalez, economic development director for the City of Menifee. Thus none of the other tenants have been determined.

The property is bordered on the west by Junipero Road and the adjacent Boulder Ridge Elementary School.

The construction that was begun previously to the north of the McCall Square property is a housing development being built by Lennar Homes, said Cheryl Kitzerow, community development director for the City of Menifee.

Construction vehicles are seen in the McCall Square property looking east from above Junipero Road.
