WWII, Korean War veteran honored on 100th birthday

State Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez presented a birthday proclamation to Dave Lower on the occasion of his 100th birthday Tuesday. Lower, a World War II and Korean War veteran, lives in The Farm community in Wildomar and joins Menifee residents for lunch each day at Kay Ceniceros Senior Center.

Joining Melendez in honoring Lower before a packed house at the Senior Center were Gloria Sanchez, chairwoman of the Menifee Senior Advisory Committee, and Menifee Mayor Bill Zimmerman.
