Teter runs for 274 yards, 3 TDs in Heritage's victory

Kenny Teter rushed for 274 yards and three touchdowns Friday night and the Heritage High School football team broke open a close game in the second half to score a 41-18 victory over Elsinore.

Teter scored his first touchdown on a 10-yard run in the first quarter to tie the score at 6-6, but Elsinore took the lead for the second time in the game moments later on a touchdown run by Tim Goodwin. Heritage bounced back to take the lead for good on TD runs of 12 and 44 yards by Teter for a 20-12 halftime lead.

Elsinore made it close again on a fumble return and trailed just 20-18 in the third quarter, but the Tigers didn't get on the scoreboard again. Heritage ran away with the victory in the second half on two touchdown passes by Tyler Basham and a TD run by AC Rondon.

Heritage is now 4-2 this season. The Patriots play their final nonleague game at home against Temescal Canyon next week before opening Ivy League play at Paloma Valley Oct. 18 in the annual Menifee Bowl.
