Seniors to display talents at Sun City Discovery Day

One of the biggest social events of the year in the Sun City retirement community in Menifee takes place Saturday when local clubs display their talents at Discovery Day.

The event will take place at the Sun City Civic Association complex at 26850 Sun City Blvd. All are invited to see the many opportunities seniors in the area have for interaction with others of similar interests.

The day will begin at 10 a.m. with a performance by the Sun City Aquarians in the crystal pool. That will be followed by live entertainment, demonstrations and a variety of arts and crafts for sale and display. Local restaurants will serve free signature samples prepared by their chefs. There will also be a drawing for prizes.

The Sun City Civic Association facility will be open for tours as well.

The festivities will continue until 3 p.m. There will be demonstrations of lawn bowls, chair volleyball, pickle ball, horseshoes, shuffleboard and bicycling.
