Assistance sought for man who narrowly escaped house fire

A website has been established to raise funds assisting the grandfather of a Menifee woman after he narrowly escaped death in a house fire Friday in the border town of Tecate, Mexico.

The man woke up to find his home fully involved in flames. Two people died in the fire, authorities said. The grandfather is staying with Menifee resident Ruby Monroy in her home here after losing all his belongings in the fire.
