Thanks to Robert Layton for sending us this nice shot of a bird he identifies as a western osprey, a fish-eating bird Robert says is recognized by the "distinctive stripe over his eye and brown/black and white wings. Also, known to have an amazing 6-foot wingspan. This guy showed up after the fire and I have seen it fishing around the lake. I managed to get close enough to snap a couple pics as he took flight from a light post on Lake Menifee."
