The public is invited to a ribbon cutting event for the newly renamed John V. Denver Park Wednesday
at 3 p.m.
The event will take place at the park previously known as Rancho Ramona Park, located at 28050 Encanto Drive in Menifee. The event is scheduled to combine with Clean Air Day, as so proclaimed by the City Council. That will be commemorated with a tree planting at the park after the ribbon cutting.
In addition, new exercise equipment donated by the Menifee Rotary Club will be unveiled at the event.
Denver recently termed out on the City Council after serving for the City's first 10 years following incorporation in 2008. He also worked on the incorporation committee prior to that.
"This is a great event that honors our history as a City while also showing our commitment to providing great amenities for our residents," said Community Services Director Jonathan Nicks. "Additionally, the City Council and the staff want to show the importance of clean air and sustainability initiatives through the Clean Air Day Proclamation and tree planting."
Dean Deines, current City Council member representing District 4, expressed his appreciation for the exercise equipment donated by the Rotary Club.
"I want to extend a very sincere thank you to our Rotary Club,” said Deines. "Their dedication to our community continues to show through their generous donation."
