Cal Fire and City of Menifee officials honored Cal Fire Engineer Roy Garcia Wednesday on his retirement after 35 years with the department, including 20 years in Menifee. Garcia, a Menifee resident, served at Station 86 on Murrieta Road during that time.

"Roy taught a lot of other firefighters how to be safe, how to serve the public and how to show professionalism," said Battalion Chief Josh Bischof.

Garcia was presented a plaque by Mayor Bill Zimmerman on behalf of the City of Menifee and Cal Fire.
