One of the most visible and popular deputies patrolling the streets of Menifee has been promoted to Corporal at the Perris Station of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Frank Rice has served the department for 13 years, including the last eight under special assignment in Menifee. In 2017, then Deputy Rice was given the special assignment of Crime Prevention Officer in the city. He has been proactive in dealing with the homeless, increasing safety at local businesses, and meeting with community groups about safety actions they can take.
"I can't count the number of accolades and commendations for Corporal Rice," said Sheriff's Captain Greg Fellows during the announcement at Wednesday night's City Council meeting. "He's the All-Star on our All-Star team. The sky's the limit for you, Corporal Rice."
Fellows said that although Rice's new role includes supervision throughout the Perris Station's service area, he will continue to interact with the residents of Menifee.
"Frank has become a tremendous partner of ours," Mayor Bill Zimmerman said. "We have grown to love him."
Rice was presented a plaque by council member Matt Liesemeyer in appreciation of Rice's service to the community.
